Water and Wine

John 2:1-11 And the third day there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee; and the mother of Jesus was there:

2 And both Jesus was called, and his disciples, to the marriage.

3 And when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus saith unto him, They have no wine.

4 Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come.

5 His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it.

6 And there were set there six waterpots of stone, after the manner of the purifying of the Jews, containing two or three firkins apiece.

7 Jesus saith unto them, Fill the waterpots with water. And they filled them up to the brim.

8 And he saith unto them, Draw out now, and bear unto the governor of the feast. And they bare it.

9 When the ruler of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and knew not whence it was: (but the servants which drew the water knew;) the governor of the feast called the bridegroom,

10 And saith unto him, Every man at the beginning doth set forth good wine; and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse: but thou hast kept the good wine until now.

11 This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested forth his glory; and his disciples believed on him.

Jesus turning water into wine was the first miracle and sign He performed, displaying His divine power to the world. Virtually everyone in the world has heard of Jesus turning water into wine, but do they understand the true meaning of that miracle? The figures revealed here paint a rich picture of the salvation God has for us all, if we would but place our faith in Him.

Almost every verse in this account holds spiritual significance; from the environment (wedding reception), to the six waterpots, the water, the wine, the servants. All these details hold a great deal of meaning.

Deuteronomy 32:2 My doctrine shall drop as the rain, my speech shall distil as the dew, as the small rain upon the tender herb, and as the showers upon the grass

In the book of John (the only gospel account of this event) Jesus comes onto the scene entering a wedding reception! Celebrating the love between man and wife with friends, family, food, drink, having an overly joyous time. During the celebration we encounter a problem...there's no wine (v3). Mary, understanding Jesus' divinity, turns to him for a solution.

With seeming reluctance, not wanting to draw attention to Himself, He steps into action calling the "servants" to help him. He commands these servants to take six empty waterpots and fill them with water. The number six represents the pinnacle of God's creation,  as mankind was created on the sixth day (Genesis 1:31). Mankind being formed on the sixth day was the only part of the creation God called "very good". The number six appears all throughout the scriptures, most notably with the anti-christ. In Revelation 13:18 we see that the number of the beast is 666. Some scholars have made the observation that if the number six represents man, and the number three represents God (by the trinity of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit), then the number of the beast could represent a man acting as God (Isaiah 14:14).

In verses 6 and 7 we can see these waterpots (representing man), were used in Jewish purification ceremonies. Comparing this verse to Deuteronomy 32:2 above, we can see that the Word of God is figuratively represented as water. So these pots being filled with water represent man being filled with God's Word, for the purpose of spiritual purification.

Proverbs 25:25 As cold waters to a thirsty soul, so is good news from a far country.

The Gospel of Jesus Christ is the reality of God coming to earth as a man, living a perfect life without sin, thus being the only one able to take on the sins of the world in a balanced exchange. God's perfect and sinless life was traded for the sinful lives of mankind. He is the ultimate Passover Lamb, and through His death and resurrection, we can be given life. The gospel is "The Good News". Here we can see that The Gospel was revealed in the Old Testament, and has a figurative relationship to water. Good news, God's Word, is like refreshing water to a thirsty soul.

Proverbs 11:25 The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that watereth shall be watered also himself.

As servants of God, we are called to share the Good News! To share the Gospel. In the verse above we see that the more we share, the more we are blessed. The more we share the good news of Jesus, the stronger our faith becomes, which results in God entrusting us with more, creating a virtuous cycle of blessing. He who waters will also be watered.

Proverbs 11:24 There is that scattereth, and yet increaseth; and there is that withholdeth more than is meet, but it tendeth to poverty.

On the contrary, those who do not water, who do not gather with Him, are scattering, doing the opposite of God's will (Matthew 12:30). If the Christian does not spread the good news, working to lead the lost souls of the world to salvation, then they are counted as God's enemies. If we are not watering others with the Word, this will lead to poverty and destruction.

John 2:7 Jesus saith unto them, Fill the waterpots with water. And they filled them up to the brim.

When we first get saved, we are filled to the brim with God's Spirit, just like these waterpots! It's an incredible feeling and a wonderful truth. The Holy Spirit fills us by God's Word.

John 15:11 These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.

Once filled to the brim, The Christian experiences such a profound sense of joy that goes beyond any worldly pleasure. A lot of people in the world (myself included before encountering Jesus), go through life feeling a great void within them. We all try to fill that void in different ways; with relationships, work, sex, drugs, alcohol, really anything. But no matter how hard we try, we can never find that fulfillment we're looking for.

This void exists because we are meant to be with God-and have been separated from him through our sinful nature. "And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters." God's Spirit is moving in this world and is accessible to all through submission to Christ. Only then will He fill our vessels to the brim with the Holy Spirit.

Acts 13:52 And the disciples were filled with joy, and with the Holy Ghost.

When the disciples received the Holy Spirit, they were filled to the brim with the very same sense of joy described above. This is exactly what happens when we become born again after placing our faith in Jesus Christ (John 3:3). It's the only way to be filled to the brim, finding true fulfillment in life (John 2:7).

Where does wine come from? First of all we need a grape seed which is planted in a vineyard. This seed must be planted in the right soil, so that out from it a vine can begin to grow. That vine needs to be planted in nutrient rich soil, and must receive the proper amount of water and sunlight to continue growing. Once it begins to grow, the vine needs a structure it can climb up and grow along, so that it may have an increased production rate (without this the vine bunches up and cannot produce fruit effectively). The vine also needs carbon dioxide and nitrogen from the air, and so much more. All of these natural processes are reflected within God's Word, painting a picture that reveals spiritual truth.

John 12:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.

Before the seed (corn of wheat) can begin to sprout, first it has to die. When the kernel of wheat is in the plant, it is alive. When it falls off the plant to the ground, it dies. If the seed lands upon good soil, it becomes planted. Once planted, it can then put fourth shoots, becoming it's own plant, producing even more fruit as a result. First, the seed has to die in order to find life and produce fruit.

For the seed to become a vine and produce fruit, this all had to begin in Christ. Jesus Christ was the first fruit of the resurrection. In order for His body to have been resurrected, first he had to suffer death. As He overcame death, so can we overcome death by following his example. Thus, He was the first seed which fell to the ground and died, resulting in a manifold increase of fruit (sinners converting to Christianity throughout history). We too must first die to our sinful nature, pick up our own cross, die to self, becoming a new creation in Christ; living in the newness of life by the Holy Spirit to produce fruit.

Isaiah 5:2 And he fenced it, and gathered out the stones thereof, and planted it with the choicest vine, and built a tower in the midst of it, and also made a winepress therein: and he looked that it should bring forth grapes, and it brought forth wild grapes.

The choicest vine is The Messiah, God's only begotten Son, Jesus (John 15:1). Also referenced in Psalm 80:15-17.

John 15:2a  Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away:

Jesus is the vine, and those who are saved become his branches. The branches are there for a purpose, to produce fruit. If a branch is not producing fruit, then it is worthless, and will be cut down (Matthew 7:19). Think of this from the perspective of the gardener. The gardener planted this vine for the purpose of creating produce, in this instance, good grapes that will create a fine wine. If there are branches which are producing good grapes, and others who are not, the gardener will prune the vine, so that its nutrients are directed to the fruitful branches, and are not wasted on the unfruitful branches.

John 15:2b  and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.

Just as the gardener prunes his vine (John 20:15), so too does God prune His followers. He invests in those who are faithfully producing, and cuts off those who do not.

John 15:4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.

Only those who abide in Christ can bear fruit. Only those who follow and obey the Word of God can be effective vessels, producing fruit (saving souls) for the Kingdom of God.

Matthew 13:8,23 But other fell into good ground, and brought forth fruit, some an hundredfold, some sixtyfold, some thirtyfold. But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.

The grain, or seed, represents the Word of God being planted in an individual, the fruit of which represents individuals getting saved.

Galatians 5:22-23 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

As we grow in the faith, we also develop spiritual fruit personally, through a change in behavior. This fruit grows in an individuals heart, in the garden of obedience.

Psalm 128:3a Thy wife shall be as a fruitful vine by the sides of thine house

The marital relationship of a husband and wife is an image of the believer's relationship with Jesus. He is the Bridegroom and the church is His bride. The fruit that comes fourth from a husband and wife is the creation of children. The fruit that comes fourth from a Christian is the creation of new disciples in Christ. Witnessing to the world and winning souls (Proverbs 11:30).

Psalm 119:130 The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple.

Through the process of photosynthesis, the plant is physically fed by the sunlight. Through the process of consuming God's Word, the believer is spiritually fed by receiving the understanding of God's Word.

John 3:8 The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.

By breathing air, the plant is able to continue living as it fuels it's cells with carbon dioxide. Through the breathing in of God's Spirit, the human being is able to continue living in this world, and in the world to come.

Genesis 2:7 And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

Just as the vine grows fourth from the ground, so too is mankind created from the dust of the ground. Just as the quality of the ground determines the ability of the plant to grow, so too does the quality of the church a believer is planted in determines the ability of that follower to grow in the faith.

Colossians 2:7 Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.

The vine plants its roots deep into the soil in order to receive nutrients from the earth, and to stay structured and grounded, safe from strong winds and storms. As the vine needs to be rooted into the ground, so too does the believer need to be rooted in the Word of God, in Christ. Being rooted in the faith allows us from being blown about by the winds/harsh weather of the world (Matthew 7:25).

Isaiah 55:10-11 For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

As the vine needs to be watered in order to live, so too does man require God's Word to live.

The vine also needs a structure that it can climb upon and spread out to continue growing. Especially when considering it's grapes. If the grapes are all bunched up, only some will receive the proper sunlight that's needed, while others will lack the proper nutrition. The same can be said about Christians who gather in large churches with hundreds, or even thousands of people at the mega-church level. Crowded churches lead to bunched up grapes. When grapes are bunched up they cannot receive the proper nutrition, sunlight, attention, fellowship, instruction etc. The more these bunches are spread out, the more fruit a branch will be able to produce.

Psalm 104:15 And wine that maketh glad the heart of man, and oil to make his face to shine, and bread which strengtheneth man's heart.

In the Bible, we can see that wine is a figurative representation of this joy, making our hearts "glad". All of these physical substances hold a deeper spiritual meaning. Bread in the Bible provides strength to man (exemplified in 1 Samuel 20-21 when David eats the priestly bread as he is on the run from Saul), Water provides life to man (John 4:14), and drinking Wine results in joy, and is a motivator to man (Isaiah 24:11).

A balanced meal requires all three; bread for strength, water for life, and wine for enjoyment. Bread and water are what's needed, while wine is an enhancement/joyful pleasure. Most churches today have an unbalanced diet: Bread (biblical teaching + doctrine) and Water (God's Word) should be the priority/main course with Wine being an enhancement/dessert. The Modern Evangelical Church seems to have this order reversed. Most of these churches have a very strong emphasis on the singing, dancing, concert light shows, and experience based worship service, with a small dose of actual Bible teaching to follow. And even when these "churches" "teach" the Bible, I notice most of what they teach is very worldly self-help motivational speech type lessons. This is why The Body of Christ is so weak today. The Body is unhealthy because there's not enough bread, and too much wine. As a result, many church goers are lukewarm hypocrites lacking biblical wisdom and passion to share The Gospel. The Body needs nourishment (bread) and hydration (water). What we need in the church is more effective teaching of God's Word and biblical understanding.

Job 12:7-10 But ask now the beasts, and they shall teach thee; and the fowls of the air, and they shall tell thee: Or speak to the earth, and it shall teach thee: and the fishes of the sea shall declare unto thee. Who knoweth not in all these that the hand of the Lord hath wrought this? In whose hand is the soul of every living thing, and the breath of all mankind.

All of nature is used by God to teach us of the Truth. The creation testifies of Him who is it's very Creator. As a result we can see all throughout the Bible how it uses nature to teach us of spiritual concepts. We can see the intricacy of God's design in the figurative examples above, showing us how nature teaches us of the Christian life. Nature allows us to gain deeper understanding of His teachings.

Matthew 25:10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.

See study on the Ten Virgins

In Jesus' first coming, the first sign at the beginning of His ministry was transforming water into wine at this wedding celebration. The events that happened in Christ's first coming foreshadow and reveal events that will surround His second coming. Just as Jesus came to this wedding feast at the first coming, there's also going to be a wedding feast in heaven taking place at his second coming. We can see this described above in Matthew 25:10 in the parable of the 10 virgins. If we aren't ready to enter into the marriage with Jesus, we will be outside of his protection, and will face destruction.

Revelation 19:7-8 Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to Him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready. And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.

The Lamb is Jesus Christ, the true Passover Lamb, who was God's holy sacrifice. His wife is Israel, consisting of believing jews and gentiles grafted in by faith (Romans 11). Her fine arrayment of clean and white linen is a figurative representation of Christ's righteousness being attributed to his faithful followers. Just as He is the Lamb without "blemish" so too are these garments without blemish, showing Christ's sinless nature, and our sins being washed clean (the whiteness proving that purification) once our faith is in Him. We must be properly clothed in this arrayment to take part in His wedding.

Matthew 26:29 But I say unto you, I will not drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father's kingdom.

We referenced a connection between Christ's first coming and how it reveals similar circumstances of His second coming in Matthew 25:10. In this verse (Matthew 26:29), Jesus proves that thesis as He is clearly telling us that He will be drinking this new wine in the Kingdom of God with his faithful servants, in a future heavenly celebration, foreshadowed by the earthly celebration in John 2.

John 2:1 And the third day there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee; and the mother of Jesus was there:

It's important to note that this wedding feast occurred "on the third day". The third day holds a great deal of spiritual significance throughout the Bible. Of course we know that Jesus was raised from the dead on the third day, following his death and burial. We can also see this in the OT with verses such as Hosea 6:2, referencing our resurrection also taking place on the "third day". Just as Christ was raised from the dead on the third day, so too will His Body (Israel/The Church/His Bride) be raised on the third day. What exactly does that mean?

We can look at these "days" as different ages or periods of time. Much can be said about this, but to keep it high level, we know that on the third day, or at the start of the third "age", Christ is going to come back, and his followers we raise from the dead to meet Him in His Kingdom. Just as this wedding took place on the third day, so will the heavenly wedding between God and His faithful servants take place at the start of the "third day".

As we speak, God is preparing two different types of wine for two separate occasions, both taking place on the third day; one type for a joyous heavenly wedding celebration, the other type is full of wrath for His enemies...

Revelation 14:10,19 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: And the angel thrust in his sickle into the earth, and gathered the vine of the earth, and cast it into the great winepress of the wrath of God.

This one is reserved for the wicked. At Christ's return, we will either be saved by Him, or we will be destroyed. Whichever type of wine you drink is your choice to make. Either the wine God's wrath, or the wine of God's salvation.

John 15:1 I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.

The vine creates grapes, and grapes produce wine. The Vine turns water into wine through natural processes. Jesus turns water into wine through supernatural processes. He is the True Vine!

John 2:9 When the ruler of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and knew not whence it was: (but the servants which drew the water knew;) the governor of the feast called the bridegroom

Just as the vine turns water into wine, and Jesus also turned water to wine, Christians (servants above) also turn water into wine as partakers in that miracle. Wine in the world is referred to as a "spirit". The wine that comes from Christ is the right spirit (Holy Spirit). Wine is also associated with joy and is a motivator to man.

Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Wine physically motivates man, as we like to be happy and often seek happiness in life. Wine is also associated with celebrations, parties, and weddings, both physically and spiritually. The wedding feast at Cana is a miracle that illustrates salvation.

Man wants wine, not water. Water is boring and bland to us, and God knows this. In the same context, people don't want water, nor do they want to read the Bible. But, as man cannot live without water, neither can we live eternally without accepting God's Word. We need both The Word and Water, but man is not interested!

Just as wine motivates man physically, faith motivates man spiritually. Just look to God's people throughout history seeing the incredible things they accomplished through their faith.

Hebrews 12:1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us

We can see a small snapshot of these accomplishments through the prophets listed in Hebrews 11; Abel (11:4), Enoch (11:5), Noah (11:7), Abraham (11:8), Sarah (11:11), Isaac (11:20), Jacob (11:21), Joseph (11:22), Moses (11:23), Joshua (11:30), Rahab (11:31), David, Samuel, Jephthah, Gideon, Barak, Samson (11:32), and so many more. We can see through the examples of these believers, and many more throughout history, how powerful a motivator faith is, leading to countless acts, feats, and accomplishments. We are called to follow their example, trusting in the Lord, working for the advancement of His kingdom.

Luke 18:8 I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?

When Jesus comes back, He will be looking to save his faithful followers. Just as God searches his vineyard for grapes, so too is Jesus searching for genuine faith. Just as a vineyard can produce both wild (bad) and ripe (good) grapes, so too can our faith be found passive and empty, or active and full.

Matthew 4:4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

Through God's infinite mercy, He gives us wine. When we get saved, Jesus turns water into wine, and makes The Bible desirable to us. When we get saved, we receive the Spirit of God within our bodies (vessels/waterpots). Our bodies are full of water, but when we receive God's Spirit, Jesus transforms that water into wine, thus giving us the motivation to follow him. Once this happens, the born again Christian now has a desire for the Word of God. They are motivated by it and His Word becomes our Spiritual Food.

In the wedding feast, we see that the MC had no idea where the wine came from. But the servants who brought the wine out knew exactly where it came from. Now that we're saved, we become servants of the Most High, and are called to serve others this same wine, laboring to bring them to faith in Christ. We become part of God's Church, Jesus being our Bridegroom, The Church being His Bride.

Just as Christ created wine for the attendees at this wedding celebration, we are also called to produce wine for others. As we witness and people begin to believe, Jesus will perform this exact same miracle through us. Once Christ is accepted as Lord, the Holy Spirit enters into that person, transforming water (God's Word) into wine (reality). When we get saved, we enter into the great wedding feast in heaven (so long as we stand firm to the end Matthew 10:22). Once this happens, we are called to die to self, to serve others and lead as many to The Lord as possible.

John 15:6 If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.

When a man gets saved, he is grafted into the vine, Into the body of Christ. We become part of faith. As partakers of the faith, we are called to action. Christ calls us to make disciples. He commands us to go fourth and to sin no more. He tells us that he makes us fishers of men, and to be fruitful. But without resulting action, there is no point to faith. As James puts it, faith without works is dead.

The salesman has faith that he will close a deal, so he takes action, makes phone calls, sets meetings, and ultimately closes that deal. A drug dealer has faith that if they purchase that particular product in bulk, he will be able to sell it at retail prices to consumers, and he takes action to make that investment, and to set out on the corner to find those customers. Almost everything we do requires faith to a degree. Placing one's faith in Christ is no different, and also demands action.

If the Christian is not fruitful as part of the vine, that "branch" will wither away, be cut off, and thrown into the fire (hell).

Proverbs 29:1 He, that being often reproved hardeneth his neck, shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy.

The more we rebel against the Truth of God's word, the harder and harder our hearts will become, which will eventually lead to utter destruction. Obedience to Christ is critical. If we do not obey after coming to the knowledge of truth, we can become hardened and lose our position in the vine, thus losing our salvation. It is only those who endure until the end, who are saved.

Romans 1:28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient

After constant rebellion, we can see that God gives people over to their sins, their wickedness, their selfishness, and to their stubborn reprobate minds. We can see this clearly in the example of the Pharaoh in Exodus 7-10.

Song of Solomon 2:15 Take us the foxes, the little foxes, that spoil the vines: for our vines have tender grapes.

The vines are spoiled by little foxes (sin).

Proverbs 25:4 Take away the dross from the silver, and there shall come forth a vessel for the finer.

The silver is spoiled by the dross. The Hebrew word for dross is H5509, meaning refuse. The root of that word is H5472, which means to go back, to retreat, to apostatize, backslide, go back, and to turn away. This allows for such a clear understanding...dross represents anything in a Christians life that is not useful to God-it's garbage. In the context of silver, this needs to be polished off, or refined through a fire. In the context of the vine, the foxes need to be taken away so as not to spoil it.

We are living vessels of God. If we are not refined, we cannot be properly used by him. If we go back into the world, we will not be fruitful, and will turn away from the faith. The only way to abide in the vine, and to become a fine vessel for Him, is to continue in the faith, moving forward down the path, and to mature spiritually, producing more and more fruit along the way. We may sin no more, and to become holy as Christ is holy! All wickedness, pride, fleshly lusts, and all that is not profitable for the Lord, must be taken away so that we can become a vessel of honor, used for His Kingdom and for His glory.

Isaiah 5:4 What could have been done more to my vineyard, that I have not done in it? wherefore, when I looked that it should bring forth grapes, brought it forth wild grapes?

What more can God do? He created mankind from the dust of the ground. He loved His creation so much, he blessed it with absolutely everything: with love and joy, with food and shelter, and with His friendship and protection. He orchestrated an environment so perfectly structured to support life in a self sustaining way. He created the earth to put fourth plants, the sun to feed them, the air to nourish them, and the fruit they produce to feed humanity. The air breathed in by the plants come from the very air we exhale. The air we require to live comes from the oxygen that plants exhale. Our bodies are built to sustain themselves exactly according to the temperature experienced on this earth. His creation is perfect, and God gifted us the opportunity to experience this life. He gave us life. And we squander it away through sin.

Despite our rebellious nature, God developed a plan to redeem us. He revealed his existence to individuals throughout history, and eventually to the entire nation of Israel, which He established. He gave us his Word, and He gave us rules to live by that would allow for complete societal harmony. He also allowed us the free will to make our own decisions, which we used to continue rebelling against Him. Refusing to give up on mankind, knowing there was no way we were actually going to follow Him by our own strength, He sent His very Son to save us.

Jesus came to this earth having the fullness of God within him, yet he came in the form of Man. He lived the perfectly righteous, sinless life, we were incapable of living, fulfilling God's perfection in human form. Because he was perfect, Jesus was able to take on the sins of mankind in a spiritual exchange of justice. He died on the cross on our behalf. He then rose from the grave, conquering death, achieving the impossible, giving us eternal life. God Himself taught us through his Son, by his Word, and through his creation. He then shared His Holy Spirit with us, to all those who believe in Jesus. He transformed water into wine within the believer, implanting in us the desire to follow him, compelling us towards holiness, allowing us to communicate with him through prayer, and giving us a step by step instruction manual on how to live life with Him. I mean he has literally done everything for us. What more can he do?

Isaiah 55:1-2 Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread? and your labour for that which satisfieth not? hearken diligently unto me, and eat ye that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness.
